Carl,
I used to have these problems so I'll tell you what caused mine, which I
found out about the hard way (Painfully losing many animations).
If you are rendering directly to the PAR and for some reason you don't go
in and close the file in the PAR software (say you just turn off your
computer or reboot during the middle of an animation, something in the
PAR software is not written to the par animation. Next time you load up
the par software you'll see you animation and it will play fine, but as
soon as you try to join or append it to something, your animation will
get eaten. I used to do this... you know, rendering out a 300 frame anim
and at frame 100 I want to start something else so I stop lightwave, save
the scene so it will start rendering at frame 101 when I next load it up,
then start doing whatever it is I needed to do without closing down the
PAR software, and my 4000 had a lot of lockups for some reason which
resulted in me having to reboot... And WALLA, When I later tried to
append that first 100 animation to the rest of it, they got wasted!
Hope this helps out a little.
Take Care,
Manny
